How can we possibly love those who cause us harm, ill-will, and grief? With God all things are possible. Paul the Apostle reminds us that "God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us" (Romans 5:5) God's love conquers all, even our hurts, fears, prejudices and griefs. ...

Bible trivia: increasing godly knowledge

BY ATTY. BATAS MAURICIO

BIBLE TRIVIA, PART I: CREATION OF MAN: When did God really create man---on the
sixth day of creation, or earlier? If you read the Holy Bible good enough, I

Mar 8, 2011 - Tuesday Meditation (No, You are not Half-Finished!)
Many Christians today think about their spiritual life as unfinished house. Sure, there’s something there, but it just feels incomplete. But I want you to know that God has not forgotten you. He doesn’t just leave you half-finished and walk away. All believers are a work in progress, and we can be assured that his work is being done. One day, on that glorious day of Jesus Christ, we can have full confidence th...

Mar 7, 2011 - Monday Meditation (Decide to BELIEVE!)
Faith is confidence in God and a belief that His promises are true. When a person begins to walk in faith, Satan immediately tries to hinder her through many things, including fear. Faith will cause a person to go forward, to try new things, and to be aggressive. Unless we make a firm decision to “fear not,” we will never be free from the power of it. SANDAMAKMAK, PUPUGAK-PUGAK HIRAP

Danny Lim, Jun Lozada, Col. Querubin, Amba Roy Seneres, Atty. Alan Paguia, at marami pang iba.

‘Drug Mule’ Diplomacy

Little did President Benigno Aquino III realize that in his desire to save the lives of three Filipino drug traffickers from execution in China, he had unwittingly stirred a hornet’s nest that could spark a geopolitical controversy – or confrontation -- over the Spratly islands in the South China Sea.

In a last-ditch attempt to save the Filipinos drug traffickers’ lives, Aquino sent Vice President Jejomar Binay to Beijing to ...

Not necessarily Marcos himself. Kanya-kanya silang balyahan, sikuhan, at gulangan.

KATOTOHANAN?

PANGARAP PINOY, ipinagkait noong panahon nina Gat Jose Rizal at Gat Andres Bonifacio.

“I would rather have a Philippines run like hell by Filipinos, than a Philippines run like heaven by Americans,” pangalandakan niya.

BAGONG LIPUNAN ating ding nasubukan.

Magkaisa anila, at magsamasama.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8042 – June 7, 1995 Omnibus Rules and Regulations Implementing The Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995;

Sec. 56. Emergency Repatriation. - The OWWA, in coordination with DFA, and in appropriate situations, with international agencies, shall undertake the repatriation of workers in cases of war, epidemic, disasters or calamities, natural or man-made, and other similar events without prejudice to reimbursement by the responsible principal or agency within sixty (60) days of notice. In such case, POEA will simultaneously identify and give notice to the agencies concerned;

Sec. 59. Emergency Repatriation Fund. - When repatriation becomes immediate and necessary, the OWWA shall advance the needed costs from the Emergency Repatriation Fund without prejudice to reimbursement by the deploying agency and/or principal, or the worker in appropriate cases. Simultaneously, the POEA shall ask the concerned agency to work towards reimbursement of costs advanced by the OWWA. In cases where the cost of repatriation shall exceed One Hundred Million (P100,000,000.00) Pesos, the OWWA shall make representation with the Office of the President for immediate funding in excess of said amount.

MEDITATIONS

Mar 2, 2011 - Wednesday Meditation (Selfless Service!)
Jesus did the unthinkable! He wedded authority with selfless service and with loving sacrifice. Authority without sacrificial love is brutish and self-serving. For many, it entails the long routine of the Christian life, with all its daily sacrifices, disappointments, set-backs, struggles, and temptations.
