Butuan solon turns over brand new M-16 rifles to newly created SWAT team

                CAMP RAFAEL RODRIGUEZ, Libertad, Butuan City (PNA) - Agusan del Norte First Congressional District Rep. Jose “Joboy” Aquino, II recently turned over to Caraga Police Regional Director Chief Supt. Reynaldo S. Rafal 14 brand hew M-16 rifles courtesy of the solon’s Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) for Butuan City Police’ newly formed SWAT unit.

 

                In a simple turned over ceremony held at the PNP regional office conference room here this afternoon, Chief Supt. Rafal personally received the firearms from the Butuan solon and handed it over to Police Supt.  FRANCISCO DAMAYO DUNGO, Butuan City Police Office Deputy City Director for Operations.

 

                A Deed of Donation was also signed in the formal turned over of the government-owned high powered firearms.

 

                Rafal thanked the Butuan City congressman for the initiative saying the turned over was necessary to equip the newly graduated members of the Butuan City PNP’ SWAT team who underwent special training.

 

                “The new high-powered firearms will be of great help to enhance operational capability of the police force to confront criminalities especially in the creation of the SWAT team a month ago”, Rafal said.

 

                The Butuan solon for his part vowed to continue in giving assistance to the Butuan City Police saying one of his priority agenda as Congressman is to keep sustainable peace and order situation for the city.

 

                “A strong police force means a strong city and a strong city able to maintain sustainable peace means sustainable progress with peace there will be no development” Aquino stressed.

 

                Present in the simple and austere turned over rites were other police and local government officials of the city and the region.

 

                Also present to assist Congressman Aquino was Butuan City Councilor Benjie Calo who is former Chairman of the Committee on Peace and Order of Butuan City Council.

 

                Officials and personnel of the Congressional Office of Congressman Aquino were also present in the turned over rites. 


                 Agusan del Norte First District is composed of Butuan City and its 86 barangays and the Municipality of Las Nieves in Agusan del Norte province. Butuan City has been highly urbanized city during the time of former Butuan City Mayor Figurado Plaza husband of former Agusan del Norte First District Rep.
