ROXAS City — The mayor of Panay, Capiz felt insulted when the town was excluded from the parade of festivals during the second day of the Sinadya sa Halaran Festival this year.

Despite this, however, Mayor Dante Bermejo instructed his contingents to perform should the organizer allows them.

“We have prepared for the event (Pasundayag sa Kalye)… we have no other option but push through with the group’s performance,” said Bermejo.

Bermejo shown Panay News the invitation letter and the program of several events signed by Gov. Victor Tanco Sr.

Alphonsus Tesoro, provincial tourism officer, and Pio Bengan, Department of Education coordinator, apologized to Bermejo and the people of Panay.

What happened was an “honest mistake,” said Tesoro.

Tesoro said he was supervising a lot of activities.

“I apologize to the good mayor and the whole contingent,” said Tesoro.

Bermejo said he has nothing else to do but accept the apology.

“I have to accept the apology. But the damage has been done,” stressed the mayor./PN
