Man found dead on Dumalag bridge

ROXAS City — A 26-year-old farmer was found dead on a bridge in Dumalag, Capiz the other day.

Ian Neil Flotildes of Brgy. Poblacion, Dumalag succumbed to several gunshot wounds on the head and other parts of his body, SPO2 Edmund Febrada of the Dumalag police station said.

The night before Flotildes’ body was found, residents have heard several bursts of gunfire, believed to have come somewhere near the bridge, police said.

Investigation on the case continues.

In another story, a man from Brgy. Tincupon, Panitan town was stabbed while walking home.

Donato Alatiit, 28, of Brgy. Cogon, Panitan was allegedly stabbed by 26-year-old Wilky Burio, also of Brgy. Tincupon, PO3 Rolendo Vergara of the Panitan police station said.

Investigation revealed that the suspect, without any provocation, stabbed the victim on the stomach.

Alatiit was brought to the nearby Bailan District Hospital in Pontevedra town.

The suspect fled after the incident.

Another man was stabbed during a drinking binge in Pilar town.

Fifty-year-old Edilbeto Aglinao of Brgy. Dulangan, Pilar was allegedly stabbed by Benjie Delfin, 29, also of same village.

Aglinao was having a drinking binge with his friends when Delfin arrived, police said.

A heated argument ensued between the two, prompting Delfin to draw out a knife and stab Aglinao on the left chest.

The suspect fled after the incident.

Grudges may have been the motive behind the stabbing, the police said./PN
