Ex-solon’s worker hacked

ROXAS City — A worker of former Second District Rep. Fredenil Castro was wounded after his fellow worker hacked him in Dumalag, Capiz on Tuesday.

SPO2 Edmundo Febrada, officer-on-case, identified the victim as Jessie dela Cruz, 28, of Brgy. Lawaan here.

Police said dela Cruz was hacked on the nose by Jonel Gardose, 28, of Brgy. Poblacion, Dumalag town.

Dela Cruz and Gardose were working in the house of the former solon when a heated argument ensued between them, police said.

Gardose took a bolo and attacked dela Cruz, said the police.

The victim was rushed to the Dumalag Rural Health Unit and was later transferred to the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital.

Gardose, on the other hand, surrendered to the Dumalag police.

Anti-Fencing Law violators nabbed

ROXAS City — Police arrested two men for violating the Anti-Fencing Law.

Nabbed were Ronel Borbon, 22, and Rodulfo Refil, 48, both of Brgy. Tabag, Pontevedra, Capiz.

Recovered from the suspects were six fighting cocks, which were positively identified by the original caretaker Michael Cervales.

It was learned that Borbon and Refil bought the cocks for P1,200 each from a vendor in the Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center.

The suspects brought the cocks to Pontevedra to be fed before they sell them to prospect fighting cock dealers, police said.

The police caught a minor carrying one of the cocks on Bayot Drive Monday, thus they conducted the operation against the suspects.
