ROXAS City – The police force in the province is all set for the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day today and tomorrow, said Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) Director, Senior Supt. Renato Gumban.
All police chiefs were alerted to ensure public safety, he said.
Chiefs of police presented their final deployment scheme for critique and approval during the command conference on Friday last week, Gumban said.
Almost 90 percent of CPPO’s personnel were deployed not only in churches and cemeteries but also in sea and air ports, and bus and jeepney terminals, he said.
Public assistance centers manned by police officers were placed in private and public cemeteries in the province to respond to the public’s urgent needs, said Gumban.
Traffic management was also discussed during the conference, he said.
Gumban also said they anticipate petty crimes like snatching due to the expected influx of people in churches and cemeteries.
He directed all cops to disseminate crime prevention tips and remind the public to be security-conscious all the time.
Gumban said he will check the police deployment to ensure that everything will be under control./PN
