By FELIPE CELINO

ROXAS City – “I consider illegal drugs a real threat to our province. Give priority to our anti-illegal drugs campaign.” This is Gov. Victor Tanco’s marching order to Capiz Police Director, Senior Supt. Renato Gumban.

“Intensify preventive measures and arrest persons involved in the illegal drug business,” Tanco ordered Gumban and town police chiefs during Friday’s command conference at the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO).

Tanco cited the recent accomplishment of the Capiz police – the arrest on October 16, 2010 of Sulpicio Marcelino, a fugitive drug suspect.

The governor assured Gumban of his full support. He promised to make available funds for the CPPO.

Tanco also hailed the police for keeping the province peaceful during the recent barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections./PN
