Apr 13, 2011 - Wednesday Meditation (Hold Fast!)
Reflective faith is always better than blind faith; considered beliefs are stronger than tenuous assumptions.  What you believe, understand why you believe it. Think for a minute—what tenets of your life do you hold this strongly, this definitely, to the point to which they construct part of your very core of being?  What beliefs and opinions make you indubitably who you ar...

Apr 12, 2011 - Tuesday Meditation (Make Room for JESUS!)

To fail to recognize Jesus and where he came from is to remain in spiritual darkness; to believe Jesus and his words is to walk in the joy and light of God's truth. Each of us is given the opportunity to know and to accept Jesus Christ, as our Lord and Savior. Life here is limited and short, but how we live it has everlasting consequences. Do you take advantage of the present time to make room for God so that your l...

Apr 10, 2011 - Sunday Meditation (Live What You Believe!)
These stories of Jesus’ doing miracles all end with some kind of statement of belief. “Now many of the Jews who had come to Mary and seen what He had done began to believe in Him.” Jesus called Lazarus, the apostles, the man blinded, the adulterous woman, and the others to believe, not only in Him, but in their being sought out and sent out to live their beliefs.

Apr 9, 2011 - Saturday Meditation (Time of Pruning and Re-growth!)

Lent is actually a word for “Spring.” Abstaining from something is a good thing, but only if it really helps our spirits “spring” into Easter.  Like the new green shoots appearing on plants in early spring, Lent is a sort of process of pruning and re-growth.  What I really need to give up are the things that push me away from God. What are those things, my friend? GOD BLESS!

Come to know who God is! Get in touch with his covenant love and faithfulness! See how deeply committed he is to you! If you can grasp this, you will almost naturally bow down in worship and put all your energy into loving God. Mar 31, 2011 - Thursday Meditation (His Strength is Absolute!)

God is not engaged in a power struggle with the devil. He is above everything, so no opposition can pose a credible threat to him or his kingdom. His strength is absolute, his intentions are pure, and his desires for us are perfect. So why should he—or any of his followers— fear the devil? Remember:  Your power is so great that your enemies bow down in fear before you (Psa 66:3).

He wants to set us free from our unruly desires and sinful habits, so that we can choose to live each day in the peace, joy, and righteousness of his Holy Spirit (Romans 14: 17). As his followers we must love and respect his commandments and hate every form of sin. AMEN!

How can we possibly love those who cause us harm, ill-will, and grief? With God all things are possible. Mar 13, 2011 - Sunday Meditation (Strength In HIS WORD!)
Where did Jesus find the strength to survive the desert's harsh conditions and the tempter's seduction? He fed on God's word and found strength in doing his Father's will. Satan will surely tempt us and he will try his best to get us to choose our will over God's will. Feb 7, 2011 - Monday Meditation (Walk in His Way of Love!)
Believing and trusting in God to act in our lives is only possible by the grace and help of the Holy Spirit who moves the heart and converts it to God. The Holy Spirit opens the eyes of the mind and helps us to understand, accept, and believe God's word. Lord, Give me eyes of faith to recognize your presence and fill me with your Holy Spirit that I may walk in your way of love and peace.

 Feb 6, 2011 - Sunday Meditation (You are Christ's Light-Bearers!)

Just as natural light illumines the darkness and enables one to see visually, so the light of Christ shines in the hearts of believers and enables us to see the heavenly reality of God’s kingdom.  In fact, our mission is to be light-bearers of Christ so that others may see the truth of the gospel and be freed from the blindness of sin and deception. Lord, you guide me by the light of your saving truth....

Feb 5, 2011 - Saturday Meditation (Called to be a Shepherd?)
Shepherding was one of the oldest of callings in Israel , even before farming. Looking after sheep was no easy calling. It required great skill and courage. A shepherd literally had to put his life on the line in defending his sheep. The sheep and their shepherds continually lived together. Their life was so intimately bound together that individual sheep, even when mixed with other flocks, could recognize the voice ...

Feb 4, 2011 - Friday Meditation (Stand Up for What is Godly!)
Herod was a weak man. He could take a strong stand on the wrong things when he knew the right. Such a stand, however, was a sign of weakness and cowardice. The Lord gives grace to the humble, to those who acknowledge their sins and who seek God's mercy and pardon.  God's grace enables us to fight fear with faith and to overcome the temptation to compromise goodness and truth with wrongdoing and falsehood. Why did Jesus give the apostles these great powers?  And what was his purpose in providing them with this internship?  To answer that question I turn again to the image of the internship.  Interns learn by the experience of getting involved in the work of their employer. He wanted them to do the same work that he was doing.   The work of preaching, teaching and healing. As a good employer, he gave them wha...

We should have the desire to please Him and follow His commands, but pleasing Him starts with our heart condition. What is the unforgivable sin which Jesus warns us to avoid? Blasphemy consists in uttering against God, inwardly or outwardly, words of hatred, reproach, or defiance. Nov 28, 2010 - Sunday Meditation (Gospel of Fulfillment!)
His point here is that the exact “hour” is not important. What is crucial is that we not postpone our repentance, that we be ready for Him - spiritually and morally - when He comes. For He will surely come, He tells us - like a thief in the night, like the flood in the time of Noah.

Nov 27, 2010 - Saturday Meditation (This World is Passing Away!)
Our adversary the devil does not rest in his attempt to lure us away from God's will for our lives. If he cannot succeed in getting us to renounce our faith in Christ, he will try, little by little, to distract us from pursuing God, especially in prayer and listening to his word. "Lord Jesus, rouse my spirit to the truth that this world is passing away. Give me a lively faith, a joyful hope, and a fervent love to...

The word mercy literally means "sorrowful at heart". But mercy is something more than compassion, or heartfelt sorrow at another's misfortune. Compassion empathizes with the sufferer. A merciful person shares in another's misfortune and suffering as if it were his own.  And he or she will do everything in their power to dispel that misery.
