NPA boasts it killed a battalion, snatched more than 200 firearms in Caraga in 2010 alone

            BUTUAN CITY (PNA) - New People’s Army Mindanao leader and NDF spokesman Jorge Madlos a.k.a Ka Oris in a press statement boasted that in year 2010 alone, NPA guerillas snatched more than 200 firearms mostly high powered and made 200 tactical offensives against government troopers in Caraga region.

 

            In same press statement, Ka Oris claimed New People’s Army guerillas killed a battalion of enemies and counter revolutionaries in Caraga region also in 2010 alone.

 

            For the first quarter of 2011, Ka Oris again boasted that the armed wing New People’s Army guerillas killed company –sized of enemies while wounding 50 others as they snatched or confiscated 40 different kinds of firearms of various calibers including 22 high-powered firearms.

 

            The press statement signed by Ka Oris also praised the NPA rebels’ valuable organizing skills and their allied civilian organizations active membership recruitment in the countryside and even in cities for the NPA membership increase of ten percent.

 

            According also to the same press statement, the silent active involvement of allied people’s organizations have increased number of mass-based support to the New People’s Army by 12 percent.

 

            The press statement was distributed to different media outlets in time of the New People’s Army 42nd Founding Anniversary. 


              According to Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Caraga OIC regional director Abner Caga, as of press time, the regional peace and order council (RPOC)  is now holding emergency meeting at the Caraga PNP Regional Office conference room in Camp Rafael Rodriguez in Barangay Libertad, Butuan City to discuss peace and order situation and to cope up strategies to win peace including hearts and minds of the people in the region. 


           The Coalition of Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) in Caraga region has called for total empowerment of all people in Caraga by making existence of national and local government agencies relevant to the needs of the times and the people not just be hiding inside their airconditioned offices and rooms. 


            They urged routinary or regular visits of the employees and officials of different local and national government offices to hinterland areas, urban poor areas for direct consultations with the people. (PNA/Ben Serrano)
