Business Opportunity Forum for more than 100 Caraga OFWs, beneficiaries held

            BUTUAN CITY (PNA) - To cushion the impact of massive repatriation of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) from some troubled countries, the Caraga regional office of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) have recently conducted a one-day business opportunity forum to some 100 OFWs and their family beneficiaries in the region.

 

            The business opportunity meeting was conducted at the OWWA regional office training hall, press statement released by the regional office of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) said

 

            The meeting was conducted to give opportunity of the OFWs and their families to start own business if they want.

 

            Among livelihood skills opportunities discussed were business ventures on Pangasius Fish breeding, Water Lily handicraft making, Castor beans productions<mushroom culture and Lemon Grass planting and selling.

 

            OWWA and DTI livelihood trainers claimed this kind of business ventures offered to OFWs and their families are business opportunities that required not so big capital requirements but high percentages of profitability and income.

 

            They claimed concerned government agencies are more willing to help, assist in the best they can to make PFWs business ventures if they decide succeed. (PNA/Ben Serrano)
