Taiwanese national, companion mauled, shot then robbed in Butuan City village

            BUTUAN CITY- A Taiwanese national and his Filipino companion sought assistance at the Butuan City Police Station 3 Thursday evening complaining they and another companion were mauled by five unidentified suspects in Purok 12, Barangay Lumbocan, Butuan City  also on Thursday evening.

 

            The Filipina wife of the Taiwan national identified as Rose Ganancial Chang based in Alibhon, San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras, Iloilo province complained to Bombo Radyo Iloilo City that her husband  companion who turned out to be her uncle identified later as Julio Esmana were being robbed of cash money after they were being mauled.

 

            Rose Ganancial Chang complained that Esmana and her Taiwanese husband lost P300,000 cash money from robbers who mauled them first. 


            Rose complained that her uncle called her through mobile phone that he and her husband were being mauled, shot and robbed. Afraid of what happened to her foreigner who is Butuan City at that time, said she sought assistance of the media particularly Bombo Radyo who has a sister radio station here in Butuan City. 


            Butuan City Police Station 3 report to Caraga Police regional office on the other hand claimed that at about 7:45 p.m. Taiwanese national Chin Chang Chin, 50, married accompanied by a concerned citizen arrived at Butuan Police Station 3, Butuan City Police Office and reported that he was mauled by five (5) unidentified male persons at P-12, Barangay. Lumbocan, Butuan City.


            Chang complained that he and his companion Julio Galon Esmana 49, married and a native of Guimaras, Iloilo province were mauled in said place. He  said he left Esmana at the said place after they were being mauled by suspects. 


            . Personnel of Police Station 3, BCPO led by PI Victor Plaza Butcon brought the above victim to Agusan del Norte Provincial Hospital for medical treatment


            Butcon and his policemen companions according to the police report proceeded to barangay Lumbocan and there they found Esmana badly battered due mauling and had gunshot wound the back left portion of his body. 


Esmana was rushed, according to Butcon, to Agusan del Norte Provincial Hospital and now undergoing medical treatment


            Butuan City Police claimed they are still investigating the incident. (-30-)
