Highway robbers posing as passengers robbed passenger van in Surigao

            SURIGAO CITY- Highway robberies who vicitmized already many helpless motorists in the past, rearing its ugly head anew in Caraga region?

 

This developed as three unidentified robbers who posed as passengers held and robbed at least ten passengers of a Surigao City-bound Hyundai-Grace van Wednesday evening  8 p.m. along national highway in Barangay Alipao, Alegria, Surigao del Norte, belated police report said.

 

            Surigao del Norte Provincial Police Office here said the Hyundai Grace passenger van color gray, bearing plate number LYE 504 from Butuan City was traveling along national highway when three of its passengers, all male armed with .45 cal pistols  wearing a “tubaw/shawl” announced a hold up.

 

            One of the suspects who seated beside the driver pulled a .45 cal pistol and declared a hold up and ordered the driver to parked the passenger van at the side of the road.

 

Two companion robbers at the back also armed ordered all passengers of the van to surrender their wallets, mobile phones, jewelries and other valuable items.

 

            More than P100,000.00 cash money, jewelries, mobile phones and other valuable personal belongings were snatched away by the robbers from helpless, shocked and trembling in fear passengers

 

            Surigao del Norte Police Office said they immediately dispatched responding team to the scene of the crime which is about  39 kilometers away from Surigao City for investigation. (-30-)
