ARROYO’S TAX CASES: TIME FOR RECKONING: The tax cases which the government filed against party list Rep. Juan Miguel Arroyo and his wife Angela, and against billionaire businessman Macario Lim Gaw, should remind even the rich and the mighty that there is going to be a time for reckoning for everyone, no matter how rich and mighty they may have been.

The reckoning can come as early as when a new government or administration is installed, or at the time that the soul presents itself before St. Peter. There is going to be no escape for anyone, and not even the riches or the power and might that one possessed at one time or another can provide relief.

This is what the Bible, in its Ecclesiastes 12:14, is saying: “For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.” Indeed, there will be gnashing and gritting of teeth for those who did not do God’s will, as they will burn in eternity (Revelations 21:8) while millions of worms eat them at the same time, forever (Isaiah 66:24).

ADVERTISERS’ PULL-OUT BUG WILLIE: Willie Revillame should now know that personal interests remain to be the rule for those who have been advertising in his TV5 show “Willing Willie”, and not because the advertisers are his friends and have faith and believe in him. 

If those personal interests of the advertisers will be hurt, they will have no qualms about withdrawing their advertisements from his program, never mind that there is as yet no official pronouncement that his show, which highlighted a boy doing a sexy dance, violated any law or regulation.

This should compel him now to review his advertising contracts to make sure no one leaves him, or withdraws any advertisement, unless and until the authorities shall have first found him liable for any wrongdoing.

BLESSINGS FROM LISTENING TO, AND OBEYING, GOD: The blessings that one gets by listening to God (through a regular reading of the Bible) and obeying His commands are tremendous. Consequently, anyone who is fed up with poverty and difficult living should start reading the Bible and obeying God to effect a change for the better in his life.

In Deuteronomy 28:1-2, the promised blessings are: “If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God…”

Then, in Deuteronomy 28:3-14, a specification of the blessings is made: blessings in and out of the city; blessings for the fruit of the womb, produce of the land and in the young of animals; blessings against enemies; blessings on everything that is done; blessings of prosperity; blessings for timely rains; and blessings for leadership and outstanding life. Do enjoy these blessings now, ok?

Pagpapala mula sa Diyos


INSPIRASYON SA BUHAY: “…Kung ganon, ang mga nakikinig sa mga sinasalita kong ito at ginagawa ang mga ito ay matutulad sa isang taong matalino na nagtayo ng kanyang bahay sa ibabaw ng bato…” (si Jesus sa Mateo 7:24, Bibliya).

TAX CASES VS. ARROYO: PAGTUTUOS: Ang mga kaso sa buwis na isinampa ng gobyerno laban kay party list Rep. Juan Miguel Arroyo at sa kanyang asawang si Angela, at laban kay billionaire businessman Macario Lim Gaw, ay dapat magpapa-alaala sa mga mayayaman at makapangyarihan na dadating ang panahon ng pagtutuos gaano man kalaki ang kanilang yaman at kapangyarihan.

Ang pagtutuos ay maaaring maranasan matapos magpalit ng gobyerno o administrasyon, o kung ang kaluluwa ay haharap na kay San Pedro. Walang makakatakas dito, at ang yaman at kapangyarihang tinamo ninuman ay hindi makakapagbigay sa kanila ng kaligtasan.

Ito ang sinasabi ng Bibliya sa kanyang Mangangaral 12:14: “Ang lahat ng ating gawa, hayag man o lihim, mabuti man o masama, ay ipagsusulit natin sa Diyos.” Tunay nga, malaki ang hirap na daranasin ng mga hindi susunod sa kalooban ng Diyos, sapagkat susunugin sila ng habang panahon (Pahayag 21:8) sabay ng pagkain sa kanila ng milyong mga uod (Isaias 66:24).

PAG-ALIS NG MGA ADVERTISERS, PROBLEMA NI WILLIE: Naiintindihan na marahil ni Willie Revillame na nanatiling ang personal na interest ang mamamayani sa mga kompanyang nag-aadvertise sa kanyang TV5 show na “Willing Willie”, at hindi ang kanyang pakikipag-kaibigan sa kanila, o di kaya ay ang paniniwala nila sa kanya.

Kung magkakaproblema ang personal na interest ng mga advertisers, hindi sila magdadalawang-isip na alisin ang kanilang mga advertisements sa kanyang programa, kahit na wala pa namang opisyal na anunsiyo na lumabag nga siya sa mga batas dahil sa pagpapasayaw niya sa isang bata na tulad sa isang macho dancer.

Dapat magbigay-aral sa kanya ang insidenteng ito, daan upang repasuhin niya ang kanyang mga kotrata sa advertisement upang makasigurado siya na walang magpapatigil ng kanilang mga commercials hanggang hindi pa naman siya  napapatunayang nagkasala.

PAGPAPALA SA MGA NAKIKINIG AT SUMUSUNOD SA DIYOS: Sadyang napakarami ng mga pagpapalang naghihintay para sa lahat ng mga makikinig sa Diyos (sa pamamagitan ng pagbabasa ng Bibliya) at susunod sa Kanyang mga utos. Dahil diyan, sinumang sawa na sa hirap ay dapat ng mag-umpisang magbasa ng Bibliya at sumunod sa Diyos upang mabago ang kanyang buhay.

Sa Deuteronomio 28:1-2 nakalista ang mga ipinangakong pagpapala ng Diyos: “Kung makikinig kayo sa tinig ng Diyos at susunod sa Kanyang mga utos, itatampok Niya kayo sa lahat ng mga bansa. Ang lahat ng mga pagpapalang ito ay ibibigay sa inyo ng Diyos, kung susunod kayo sa Kanyang mga utos…”

Sa Deuteronomio 28:3-14 naman, inisa-isa ng Bibliya ang mga pagpapala: pagpapala sa loob at labas ng lungsod; pagpapala sa bunga ng sinapupunan, sa produkto ng lupa, at sa anak ng mga alagang hayop; pagpapala laban sa kaaway; pagpapala sa lahat ng gagawin; pagpapala sa yaman; pagpapala sa ulan; at pagpapala sa mahusay na buhay. Ano pa hinihintay ninyo? Kunin na ang mga ito.
