LUISITA WORKERS WANT STOCKS---HLI LAWYER: The farm workers of Hacienda Luisita Inc. (HLI) have already affirmed, in at least three previous referenda conducted by the Department of Agrarian Reform, their decision to own stocks as part-owners of the company, rather than be given lands from the vast Cojuangco-owned landholding in Tarlac.

HLI lawyer Tony Ligon told me, in an interview at the BATAS INTERNET TV Wednesday, July 6, 2011, that the referendum being ordered by the Supreme Court in its latest decision on the controversy would already be the fourth or so referendum, asking the same question which the Hacienda’s farm workers already answered uniformly based on their perception that owning stocks would benefit their interests more.

“The farm workers have already spoken on the issue, not just once but even thrice before already, making the matter already settled legally and factually, so we are studying what to do now with the latest decision of the tribunal,” Ligon said. Indeed, if the matter is already a decided issue, why require another vote?

WHAT TO DO WITH LACSON NOW? Now that the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) already ruled that the travel documents used by Sen. Panfilo Lacson in hiding for at least one year to avoid arrest in connection with the Dacer-Corbito murder cases, and in returning to the Philippines after he was cleared, were all fake, what must be done now?

I mean, with the DFA declaration, it is as if it is saying that Lacson committed falsification, certainly a criminal act. Now, should not DFA act and file the corresponding criminal charges against the senator now? Or, it should simply forget about the whole thing and let the Department of Justice initiate any action?

And, should not the Senate of the Philippines, through its ethics committee, be interested to investigate the fake travel documents which one of its members admittedly used? Or, should the Senate just keep quiet likewise and toss the matter also to the DOJ?

LUISITA WORKERS NAIS NG STOCKS---HLI LAWYER: Ang mga manggagawang nagsasaka sa Hacienda Luisita Inc. (HLI) ay nauna ng kumumpirma, sa tatlong botohang pinamahalaan ng Department of Agrarian Reform, sa kanilang pagnanais na magmay-ari ng stocks ng kompanya, sa halip na mabigyan sila ng lupa mula sa hasyendang pag-aari ng Cojuangco family sa Tarlac.

Ayon kay Atty. Tony Ligon ng HLI legal team, sa aking panayam sa BATAS INTERNET TV noong Miyerkules, Julio 6, 2011, ang ipinag-uutos na referendum o bagong botohan ng Korte Suprema sa pinakahuling desisyon nito sa gusot sa Luisita ay pang-apat na sa mga naunang referendum na ganun din ang tinanong sa mga magsasakang manggagawa ng Hacienda, at nasagot na nga nila sa pagsasabing stocks, hindi lupa, ang gusto nila.

“Nagsalita na ang mga manggagawa, hindi lamang isang beses kundi tatlong beses na noong una pa, na tumapos na sa isyung ito, kaya naman pinag-aaralan naming mabuti kung ano ang gagawin sa pinakahuling desisyon ng hukuman,” dagdag ni Ligon. Tunay nga naman, kung may desisyon na noon, bakit kailangan pa ng bagong botohan?

ANO BA ANG DAPAT GAWIN KAY LACSON NGAYON? Ngayong nagpasya na ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na peke nga ang travel documents na ginamit ni Sen. Panfilo Lacson upang magtago ng isang taon sa kasong Dacer-Corbito murder cases, at sa kanyang muling pagbabalik sa Pilipinas, ano na ang dapat gawin?

Ang ibig kong sabihin, sa desisyong ito ng DFA, sinasabi nitong gumawa ng pamemeke si Lacson, at ito ay isang krimen. Ngayon, di ba dapat kumilos na ang DFA at magsampa ng kaukulang kaso laban sa senador? O ibaon na lamang nito sa limot ang mga pangyayari, at bayaan ang Department of Justice na siyang kumilos?

At, hindi ba dapat na ang Senado, sa pamamagitan ng kanyang ethics committee, ay maging interesado ding mag-imbestiga sa mga pekeng dokumento na ginamit ng isa sa mga senador nito? O dapat ding tumahimik na lamang ang Senado at bayaan na lamang din ang DOJ?
