LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “…Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the LORD God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is…” (Amos 5:14, the Holy Bible).

STIFFER PENALTIES FOR ERRING DRIVERS: The revelation by the bus driver being linked to the death of veteran journalist Lourdes “Chit” Estella-Simbulan that there were three, not just two, buses involved in the accident that killed her should be reason enough for our lawmakers to heed our long-standing call for them pass stiffer laws on road mishaps.
I mean, that there were three buses involved in the accident will show the disregard and contempt that bus drivers have for the safety of others, which, I am sure, is brought about by their full knowledge of the very negligible penalty for vehicular injuries and deaths, which is imprisonment of only up to four years, whether the victims number only one, or one hundred.
That penalty will not send them to even one day in jail, so I believe it is time to impose heavier penalties for drivers who injure and kill, coupled with the confiscation and suspension, or even permanent cancellation, of their licenses, to ban them from driving the rest of their lives.

REP. PALATINO, LOOK AT WHAT SCUs AND CHED ARE DOING: What Kabataan Party List Rep. Raymond Palatino should try to look into, aside from increasing miscellaneous fees being paid by students today, is the so-called “profit participation scheme” said to be enforced in many state colleges and universities (SCUs) for a good number of years now.
I am told that the scheme allows officials of SCUs and even of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to receive part of the tuition and other fees being paid by poor students forced to study in SCUs for lack of money to allow them to enroll in private schools as their “additional allowances”.
My question here, really, is this: is this scheme true, and if so, why should officials of SCUs and CHED be allowed to enjoy allowances from tuition of poor students? Why not just use the “allowances” for school and faculty improvement to upgrade college and university education in the Philippines?

RULES FOR DAILY LIVING, PART III: Whether you believe it or not, there are now many Filipinos who no longer believe in Jesus Christ. This maybe due to many reasons, but, whatever it is, anyone who does not believe in Him will not bear fruit and, at the proper time, will suffer in fire forever.
“Anyone who des not remain in me will be thrown out like a branch and wither; people will gather them and throw them into a fire and they will be burned,” Jesus says in John 15:6 of the Holy Bible.
“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you. By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become disciples,” He adds in John 15:7.
