“TREE MURDERER” ON THE LOOSE IN QC: Whoever authorized the cutting of the trees located at the center island of Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City, between the entrance to Fairview Subdivision and the road leading to Litex Road towards San Mateo, Rizal, is a nut-head, and is a first class “murderer”---of trees, that is, and, well, come to think of it, even of people who perish because of the grave heat that has descended on us. 

The trees were already fully-grown, and served as the only source of natural oxygen in the area, but they are now all gone, to give way to the expansion of Commonwealth Avenue. 

No wonder temperature is rising uncontrollably all around us now, literally roasting all of us alive day by day. I hope someone stops this “murderer” before he kills all of the other trees in the entire stretch of Commonwealth Avenue---and kill all of us in turn because of deadly heat brought about by lack of trees.

ANTIDOTE TO DENGUE AND RELATED ILLNESSES FROM THE BIBLE: Dengue-carrying mosquitoes have mutated. While they thrived only during rainy seasons not so long ago, Department of Health experts are saying these deadly mosquitoes are now also thriving and their number continuing to grow even during summer, increasing the number of deaths from the dreaded disease to untold heights.

The situation will get worse, unless we come to our senses and realize that dengue and all other illnesses manifesting themselves in burning body temperatures were warned about by God, through Moses, to come to a people who no longer listen to Him and who no longer obey Him.

Deuteronomy 28:15 and 22 of the Holy Bible tell us: “However, if you do not obey the LORD your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you…The LORD will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, with blight and mildew, which will plague you until you perish…”

 

Is it not that dengue and its related illnesses such as SARS, meningo-coccemia, avian or bird flu and high fever, to name only a few, are considered as wasting diseases, manifested by fever and inflammation? We should listen to what the Bible is saying now, before all of us will perish.

DSWD’S MISGUIDED DOLE-OUTS: Will someone please tell Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman that the better way to help our people, instead of just merely giving them dole outs, is to use the money her office is distributing to start businesses which the poor and the marginalized can run and profit from? Did not Dinky learn the adage “give the poor fish, and you feed him for the day…”?

PACQUIAO AND “LUCKY PUNCH”: Sports columnists are telling world champion Manny Pacquiao to watch out for the so-called “lucky punch” from Shane Mosley during their fight Sunday, May 8, 2011 (in the Philippines), which could floor even a champion like him. To me, however, what Pacquiao must be wary about is the “punch” from God---which will help or destroy him, depending on what he has done, despite his fame and wealth!

INSPIRASYON SA BUHAY: “…Kung ganoon, ipagtapat ninyo ang inyong mga kasalanan sa isa’t isa, at ipanalangin ninyo ang inyong kapwa upang kayo ay gumaling. Ang panalangin ng taong matuwid ay mabisa at makapangyarihan…” (Santiago 5:16, Bibliya).

“MAMAMATAY-PUNO” GUMAGALA SA QC: Sinuman ang nag-utos na putulin ang mga puno sa gitna ng Commonwealth Avenue sa Quezon City, sa pagitan ng Fairview Subdivision at ng kalsadang patungo sa Litex Road papunta sa San Mateo, Rizal, ay walang-isip, at isang de primera-klaseng “pumapatay”---ng mga puno, siyempre, at, kung iisipin nating mabuti, maging ng mga taong namamatay dahil sa sobrang init ngayon.

Malalaki na ang mga puno, at nagsisilbing daluyan na ng natural oxygen sa lugar na iyon, pero wala na ang lahat ng mga ito, bunsod lamang ng layunin na  mapalawak pa ang Commonwealth Avenue.

Dahil dito, di na tayo dapat magtaka sa lubhang napakainit na panahon ngayon, na tila ba lumilitson na sa atin sa araw-araw. Sana naman ay may makakapigil sa “mamamatay-punong” ito bago pa niya mapatay ang lahat ng iba pang puno sa Commonwealth Avenue, at patayin tayong lahat ng tuluyan, dahil sa init na dala ng kawalan ng puno.

PANLABAN SA DENGUE AT KAHALINTULAD NA MGA SAKIT, MULA SA BIBLIYA: Naging iba na ang mga lamok na nagdadala ng dengue. Bagamat noon ay dumarami sila pag panahon lamang ng tag-ulan, sinasabi ngayon ng Department of Health na ang mga nakakamatay na mga lamok na ito ay dumarami na rin kahit sa tag-init, daan upang lalo pang dumami ang biktima ng dengue na nagreresulta sa kamatayan ng marami.

Ang sitwasyong ito ay lalala pa, hanggang hindi natin iniintindi na ang dengue at ang mga kaparehong mga sakit na nagdudulot ng nag-aapoy na temperatura sa ating mga katawan ay ibinabala na ng Diyos, sa pamamagitan ni Moses noon pa man, para sa mga taong di na nakikinig at di nfda sumusunod sa Kanyang mga salita at utos.

Ayon sa Deuteronomio 28:15 at 22 ng Bibliya: “Subalit kung hindi na kayo makikinig sa Diyos at hindi na susunod sa Kanyang mga utos, mangyayari sa inyo ang mga sumpang ito…Padadalhan kayo ng Diyos ng mga nakakamatay na sakit, ng mga lagnat at pamamaga, na siyang lilipol sa inyo…”

 

Di ba ang dengue at ang sakit na SARS, meningo-coccemia, avian o bird flue at high fever, ay itinuturing na mga nakakamatay na sakit na nagdudulot ng lagnat at pamamaga? Pakinggan natin ang sinasabi ng Bibliya, bago tayo lubusang mawasak.

BALINTUNANG DSWD DOLE-OUTS: Puwede bang sabihan si Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman na ang mas magandang paraan sa  paggamit ng perang ipinamumudmod niya sa mga mahihirap ay ang pagtatayo ng mga negosyong ang mga mahihirap ang magpapatakbo at gaganansiya, kaysa sa basta na lamang ibinibigay ang pera? Di ba alam ni Dinky ang kasabihan, “bigyan mo ng isda ang tao at siya ay kakain ngayon…?”
