            PNOY’S GOOD IMAGE HELPING OFWs  A LOT: The good image and positive perception being enjoyed by President Aquino among the members of the international community are the principal reasons why the deployment of overseas Filipin workers (OFWs) abroad continue to be brisk despite the on-going worldwide economic turmoil.

 

            Administrator Carlos Cao, Jr. of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) made this assessment last Thursday, 06 October 2011, in an informal round-table-discussion with members of the Batch ’78 of the Sigma Rho Fraternity of the University of the Philippines, College of Law.  Cao is a member of Batch ’78.

 

            “It is mainly because of the international community’s trust on President Aquino and his government that OFW’s continue to be warmly accepted by employers in many countries around the world,” Cao explained.

MORE OFWs DEPLOYED, MORE DOLLAR REMITTANCES CAME IN: Responding to queries by Batch ’78 Sigma Rhoans, Cao disclosed that latest POEA records show that despite the worldwide economic crunch the number of OFWs deployed between January 2011 to September 2011, instead of going down as expected, even surpassed the number of OFWs deployed during the same period for 2010.

 

            Cao also said that the same POEA records, also for January 2011 to September 2011, even registered a similar increase in dollar remittances from the OFW sector and that the same positive trend is expected by the POEA to continue until the end of 2011.

 

            For the period from January 2011 to September 2011, a period where Saudi Arabia and Libya are having problems employing OFWs, deployment of Filipinos topped the 900,000 figure for January 2010 to September 201, while dollar remittances for this year for the same period topped the P11 billion remitted last year.

            GOD’S GRACE IS UPON THE FILIPINO PEOPLE: Cao said these positive developments in the deployment of OFWs, and in dollar remittances from Filipino workers abroad, is nearly miraculous, and considered by many in the POEA as God’s grace.

 

            “It appears that God’s blessings and protection continue to be showered not only on OFWs, but even on the Filipino nation as well, and this could only be because of the sincerity of President Aquino in pursuing a righteous path of governance,” Cao added.

 

            Quoting the Bible which he preaches as a Pastor, Cao said “righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a disgrace to any people.” Filipinos can surely expect more positive developments under the Aquino administration, he said.

Maraming OFWs at mas bilyong dolyar pumasok sa RP

TIWALA NG MUNDO KAY PNOY, NAKAKATULONG SA OFWs: Ang mabuting pagtingin at matinding paggalang ng buong daigdig kay Pangulong Aquino ang mga pangunahing dahilan kung bakit nananatiling maganda ang pagpapadala sa ibang bansa ng mga overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) sa kabila ng nananalasang masamang lagay ng mga ekonomiya sa buong mundo.

 

            Ito ang ipinahayag ni Administrator Caloy Cao, Jr. ng Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) noong Huwebes, 06 Oktubre 2011, sa kanyang impormal na pakikipagusap sa mga kasapi ng Batch ’78 ng Sigma Rho Fraternity ng UP College of Law. Kasapi si Cao ng Batch ’78.

 

            “Ang tiwala ng iba’t ibang bansa kay Pangulong Aquino ang prinsipal na dahilan kung bakit ang OFWs ay patuloy ng tinatanggap ng mainit ng kanilang mga employers sa buong daigdig,” ayon kay Cao.

MAS MARAMING OFWs NABIGYAN NG TRABAHO, MAS MARAMING DOLYAR PUMASOK: Sa kanyang mga sagot sa tanong ng Batch ’78 Sigma Rhoans, isiniwalat ni Cao na ang mga pinakahuling datos ng POEA ay nagpapakitang sa kabila ng paghihirap ng ekonomiya sa lahat ng dako, ang bilang mga OFWs na naipadala sa mga trabaho sa ibang bansa sa pagitan ng Enero 2011 at Septyembre 2011, sa halip na bumaba gaya ng inaasahan, ay dumami pa kaysa sa bilang ng mga OFWs na lumabas noong parehong panahon noong 2010.

 

            Ipinaliwanag din ni Cao na batay sa nasabing mga datos ng POEA, para din sa Enero 2011 hanggang Septyembre 2011, ay nagpakita din ng mas mataas na pasok ng dolyares mula sa sektor ng OFWs, at ang magandang direksiyong ito ay inaasahan ng POEA na magpapatuloy hanggang matapos na ang 2011.

 

            Para sa Enero 2011 hanggang Septyembre 2011, kung saan ang Saudi Arabia at Libya ay hindi tumatanggap ng mga OFWs, ang lumabas na OFWs ay tumataas pa sa 900,000 na bilang ng mga nag-abraod mula Enero 2010 hanggang Septyembre 2011, samantalang ang dollar remittances sa mga buwan na ito ngayong taon ay mas mataas din sa pumasok na P11 bilyon noong nakaraang taon.

            PAGPAPALA NG DIYOS SA MGA PILIPINO: Ayon kay Cao, ang mga positibong pangyayaring ito sa pagpapadala ng OFWs, at sa pagpasok ng dolyar mula sa mga manggagawang Pilipino sa ibang bansa, ay tila himala, at itinuturing ng marami bilang pagpapala ng Diyos.

 

            “Lumilitaw na ang mga pagpapala at proteksiyon ng Diyos ay nagpapatuloy sa pagdating, di lamang sa mga OFWs kundi pati na sa buong bansa na rin, at ito ay dahil lamang sa sinseridad ng Pangulong Aquino sa pagtahak sa matuwid na landas sa pamamahala,” dagdag pa ni Cao.

 

            Batay sa Bibliya na ipinangangaral ni Cao bilang isang Pastor, sinabi ng POEA Administrator na “ang pagiging matuwid ay nagtatampok sa bansa subalit ang kasalanan ay isang kasiraan ng sinumang bayan.” Siguradong makakaasa pa ang mga Pilipino ng mas maraming tagumpay sa ilalim ng administrasyong Aquino, dagdag pa niya.
