Good news re: rains, floods, winds

LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well...” (Jesus Christ, in Matthew 6:33, the Holy Bible).

THE GOOD NEWS ABOUT RAINS, FLOODS AND STRONG WINDS: Did you notice how the rains and the floods and the strong winds, especially those generated by Typhoon Pedring (or Nesat), are becoming more widespread and more destructive nowadays? The bad news is that, more of these are going to happen here in Metro Manila and in the entire country.

These destructive rains, floods and strong winds are no accidents of nature. They are happening in fulfillment of what Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, warned about in Matthew 7:24-27 of the Bible. Jesus, taking note that many men and women are no longer listening to God and are no longer obeying His commands, said that rains, floods and strong winds will come and cause a “great crash” among these people.

The good news is that, something can be done to avoid this “great crash”. And that is, according to Jesus Himself, listening to God once again (meaning, reading the Bible once again) and obeying God once again. This means that we should re-learn to subject ourselves to God, listening to His Word and obeying Him all the time.

POLICE ARRESTS: LEGAL OR ILLEGAL? Do the police have the power to arrest anyone while they are in the process of investigating a crime? No, they don’t, broadcaster Ted Failon and his relatives and household helps are saying, in the criminal cases that they filed against Quezon City policemen who arrested the relatives and the helpers right inside Failon’s house after his wife committed a suicide in 2009.

On the other hand, the policemen---Senior Supt. Franklin Moises Mabanag, Supt. Gerardo Ratuita, Chief Inspectors Cherrylou Donato and Enrico Figueroa and Insp. Roberto Razon---are saying yes, they do have that power.

Who is right and who is wrong here? If you ask me, this issue must be resolved now with finality by the courts, considering that arrests by the police of suspects in a crime are continuing, even if the arrests are carried out long after the commission of the crime, and even if there are no warrants issued by the courts yet.

GOD’S CURSES, PART XIV: More of God’s curses from Deuteronomy 28:15-68 of the Holy Bible: “…He will bring on you all the diseases of Egypt that you dreaded, and they will cling to you.

“The Lord will also bring on you every kind of sickness and disaster not recorded in this Book of the Law, until you are destroyed. You who were as numerous as the stars in the sky will be left but few in number, because you did not obey the Lord your God.

“Just as it pleased the Lord to make you prosper and increase in number, so it will please him to ruin and destroy you. You will be uprooted from the land you are entering to possess...”

POLICE ARRESTS: LEGAL BA O ILEGAL?

Franklin Moises Mabanag, Supt. Gerardo Ratuita, Chief Inspectors Cherrylou Donato at Enrico Figueroa at Insp.
