Umuwing OFW, gagabayan

          Handa ang Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) na magkaloob ng training sa mga umuwing overseas Filipino workers (OFW) gaya mula Egypt.

          Ayon kay TESDA Director general Joel Villanueva, bukas ang kanilang tanggapan para sa training ng mga OFW upang lalong mahasa ang kanilang talento at talino. Layunin nito, aniya, na mas tiyak na makahanap muli ng trabaho ang mga umuwing OFW.

“After their sad experience abroad like in Egypt, we want to open possible new avenues for them by giving fresh training and retooling of their skills. This will make them capable of taking other jobs here or abroad,” pahayag ni Villanueva sa panayam ng mamamahayag.

Naiulat na abot na may 58 OFW ang bumalik sa Pilipinas mula Egypt matapos sumiklab ang kaguluhan at karahasan sa huli.

Kasabay nito, patuloy na binabantayan ng iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno lalo ng Department of Foreign Affairs, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration at Overseas Workers Welfare Administration ang kalagayan sa Egypt upang agad na maipatupad ang mga nakalatag na hakbangin dito. Mac Cabreros
