“Taking their cue from the strong mandate of the Aquino administration to promote good governance, government agencies and private sector groups are initiating various reform programs to infuse their organizations with greater integrity, honesty and accountability. However, in order for these initiatives to truly take root and prosper, there is a need for greater interface between the public and private sector’s efforts and a collective commitment to institutionalize good governance,” pahayag ni Usec. Varela.

“It is in this context that the Department of Education, through the Procurement Service is conveing a Partnership for Integrity Forum. We are inviting our partners from the private sector---suppliers, civil society organizations, and other business groups—to join us in the forum to discuss and agree in ethical principles that will govern our business and procurement practices,” dugtong ni Varela.

Mac Cabreros
