Football C’ship sa Marikina City

          “Aside from being home of the Azkals, Marikina will be an ideal venue for the annual SMART National Football Championships.

Ito ang inihayag ni Patrick Gregorio, vice president for sports ng Smart Communications nang magsagawa ng ocular inspection sa football field ng Marikina Sports Part, kasama sina Mayor Del De Guzman at Rep. Miro Quimbo.

Hinikayat ni Gregorio ang Pamahalaang Lungsod na mag-bid para sa karapatang mag-host sa naturang taunang event na inaasahang pasisimulan sa Hunyo ng taon kasalukuyan.

          “This will be good for Marikina since the games will be year-round and held annually thereon. This will further strengthen our positioning as the Home of the Azkals and as Sports Capital,” pahayag naman ni Mayor De Guzman.

          Hiniling din ni De Guzman at Quimbo kay SMART CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan na tumulong sa pagpapasaayos sa nabanggit na football field na tinayang abot sa P4 milyon ang gagastusin.

“We would need the formal cost estimate from your contractor before we can approve the disbursement in exchange for naming rights like Smart-Marikina Football Field for a period of 5 to 10 years,” tugon ni Gregorio. Mac Cabreros
