Rotary golf tourney: two cars for winners

TWO CARS FOR “HOLE IN ONE”: With the kind indulgence of our readers, I am reprinting below an announcement I made as the ChangeMaker President of the Rotary Club of Intramuros of Rotary International District 3810, regarding the two cars the club is intending to give away for golfers who can make “hole in one” shots during a golf tournament on October 8, 2011.
The invitation extends to everyone from Aparri to Jolo who will be interested to join the tournament after reading this column for today: “24 JULY 2011, First announcement from RC Intramuros: Two Cars for `Hole in One’ Shots.
“This early, may I invite all Rotarians from District 3810, especially my Classmates, ChangeMaker and Leader Presidents, to participate in the Golf Tournament that the Rotary Club of Intramuros seeks to hold on October 8, 2011, God willing, at the Club Intramuros Golf Club in Intramuros, Manila.

GOLF TOURNEY TO BENEFIT LITERACY PROJECTS: “RC Intramuros is preparing to give away possibly two Picanto Kia Sedan Cars for `Hole in One’ shots, as well as other valuable items, including trophies and medals.
“The proceeds of the tournament will go to the Club’s scholarship program for PLM’s poor but deserving students, and for our literacy projects for the benefit of Indigenous (Aeta) children, and other public school children from District 3810’s areas of coverage---Manila, Pasay City, Cavite and Occidental Mindoro.

ON LOVING THE WORLD, AND HATING BROTHERS AND SISTERS: 1 John 2:15-16 of the Bible forbids us from loving the world: “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.

1 John 2:9-11 talks about hating his brothers and sisters: “Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness. Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble. But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them…”

DALAWANG KOTSE PARA SA “HOLE IN ONE”: Sa kapahintulutan po ng ating mga mambabasa at tagasubaybay, ilalathala ko po dito ang paanyayang ginawa ko bilang ChangeMaker President ng Rotary Club of Intramuros ng Rotary International District 3810, ukol sa dalawang kotseng ipapamahagi bilang premyo sa mga golfers na makakagawa ng “hole in one” sa aming golf tournament sa Oktubre 8, 2011.
Ang paanyayang ito ay para na rin sa sinuman mula sa Aparri hanggang Jolo na magiging interesadong sumali sa torneo matapos mabasa ang kolum na ito ngayon: “24 July 2011, Unang kalatas mula sa RC Intramuros: Dalawang kotse para sa `Hole in One’.
“Bagamat maaga pa, nais kong anyayahan ang mga Rotarians mula sa District 3810, lalo na ang aking mga Classmates, ang mga ChangeMaker Presidents at Leader Presidents, na sumali sa Golf Tournament na ninanais gawin ng Rotary Club of Intramuros sa Oktubre 8, 2011, sa kapahintulutan ng Diyos, sa Club Intramuros Golf Club sa Intramuros, Manila.

KIKITAIN SA TORNEO, PARA SA EDUKASYON NG MGA MAHIHIRAP NA BATA: “Naghahanda ang RC Intramuros na ipamigay ang dalawang Picanto Kia Sedan cars para sa `Hole in One’, at iba pang mga mahahalagang bagay, gaya ng tropeo at mga medalya, para sa mga magwawagi.
“Ang kikitain sa torneo ay gagamitin sa scholarship program ng Club para sa mga mahihirap ngunit matatalinong mag-aaral ng Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, at para sa ibang proyekto sa edukasyon ng Club para sa mga Indigenous (Aeta) children, at iba pang mga batang mag-aaral sa mga pampublikong paaralan sa mga lugar na nasasakupan ng District 3810---Manila, Pasay City, Cavite at Occidental Mindoro.

PAG-IBIG SA MUNDO, AT GALIT SA MGA KAPATID: Ang 1 Juan 2:15-16 ng Bibliya ay may pagbabawal na mahalin natin ang mundo: “Huwag ninyong mamahalin ang mundo o ang anuman doon. Ang sinumang nagmamahal sa mundo ay walang pag-ibig sa Ama.
“Dahil ang lahat sa mundo---ang nasa ng laman, ang nasa ng mga mata, at ang pagmamapuri sa buhay---ay hindi nagmumula sa Ama kundi sa mundo. Ang mundo at ang kanyang mga nasa ay mawawala, subalit ang sinumang sumusunod sa kalooban ng Diyos ay mabubuhay ng walang hanggan.
Ang 1 Juan 2:9-11 naman ay ukol sa pagkagalit sa mga kapatid: “Sinumang nagsasabing siya ay nasa liwanag ngunit nagagalit sa kanyang mga kapatid ay nanatili sa dilim. Sinumang nagmamahal sa kanyang kapatid ay nabubuhay sa liwanag, at walang makakapagpabagsak sa kanila. Ngunit ang mga galit sa mga kapatid ay nasa dilim, at lumalakad sa dilim…”
