The floods are biblical alright, not because of the water’s magnitude, but because under Matthew 7:24-27 of the Bible, Jesus Christ said floods and rains and strong winds will come to those who no longer listen to, and obey, Him.

SC RULE ALLOWS GARCIA DEAL: To those opposed to the plea bargaining entered into by former Maj. Gen. Carlos Garcia relative to his P300 million plunder case before the Sandiganbayan, here is what the Supreme Court said, in the case “Joselito Daan vs. Sandiganbayan” (G.R. Nos. 163972-77, March 28, 2008): “Plea bargaining is authorized under Section 2, Rule 116 of the Revised Rules of Criminal Procedure...
“Ordinarily, plea bargaining is made during the pre-trial stage of the proceedings… But it may also be made during the trial proper and even after the prosecution has finished presenting its evidence and rested its case…”

LOVE QUESTIONS FOR PNOY AND LANI: So, the big question now is: is the “mystery lady” photographed by the Inquirer having dinner with President Aquino in a Camp John Hay pizza parlor on New Year’s Eve the newest “love interest” in Malacanang? And, is the Boracay sojourn of Willie Revillame and Lani Soledad, also on New Year’s eve, proof of a “sweetened relationship”?

DESCENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: The third “Glorious Mystery” in the Holy Rosary of the Roman Catholic Christians concerns itself about the “descent of the Holy Spirit”. This mystery is no longer a part of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, but of the Book of Acts.
In its Chapter 2, verses 1 to 41, the Book of Acts tells us that while the disciples of Jesus were gathered in one place on the day of Pentecost, a sound like the blowing a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
Then, the disciples saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them, filling them with the Holy Spirit, enabling them to speak in other tongues and languages. The Jews who saw and heard them speak in their own dialects were amazed.

REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED IN JESUS; NAME: Some however made fun of them, saying the disciples were simply drunk. Peter then addressed the non-believers, disputing that they were drunk for it was then only nine o’clock in the morning.
He also delivered an impassioned talk about salvation of sinners by repenting and being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, resulting in the conversion of about three thousand people as believers of Jesus.
This event also concretizes the promise of Jesus that He would send the Holy Spirit to those who believe in Him, as promised by the Father in heaven (Luke 24:49).

BAHA SA AUSTRALIA, “BIBLICAL”: Ngayon, tinatawag ng “mala-Bibliya” ang mga baha na tumama sa hilagang-silangang bahagi ng Australia kung saan naapektuhan na ang halos 200,000 mga Australiano. Pero hindi “mala-Bibliya” ang baha dahil grabe ito, kundi batay sa Mateo 7:24-27 ng Bibliya, sinabi ni Kristo Jesus na ang mga ulan, baha at hangin ay darating sa mga taong hindi na nakikinig at sumusunod sa Kanya.

“Kadalasan, ang plea bargaining (o pag-amin sa mas mababang krimen) ay ginagawa sa pre-trial stage ng kaso…Pero maaari din itong gawin sa paglilitis, at kahit tapos na ang taga-usig sa pagpapalabas ng kanyang mga katibayan…”

MGA TANONG NG PAG-IBIG KAY PNOY AT LANI: Ang tanong ngayon ay ito: ang “mystery lady” ba na nalitrato ng Inquirer habang kasama ni Pangulong Aquino sa isang pizza parlor sa Camp John Hay noong Bagong Taon ang siyang pinakabagong “love interest” ng Malacanang? At, ang pagbisita ba sa Boracay nina Willie Revillame at Lani Soledad noong ding New Year ay patunay naman na “matamis” na nga ang relasyon nilang dalawa?

PAG-AKYAT SA LANGIT NI JESUS: Ang “Pag-akyat sa Langit ni Jesus” ang siyang pangalawang misteryo sa mga “Misteryo ng Luwalhati” sa Banal na Rosaryo ng mga Kristiyanong Romano Katoliko, at ito ay nagsasalarawan ng kung paanong ang Panginoong Jesus ay umakyat sa langit matapos ang Kanyang muling pagka-buhay.
Dalawa lamang sa mga Evangelio ang naglalaman ng kuwentong ito ng pag-akyat sa langit ng Panginoon. Ang unang kuwento ay makikita sa Marcos, sa kanyang Kapitulo 16, bersikulo 19 at 20, samantalang ang pangalawang pagsasalarawan nito ay makikita naman sa Lucas, sa kanyang Kapitulo 24, bersikulo 50, 51, 52 at 53.

MAGPA-BAUTISMO SA NGALAN NI JESUS: Sa Marcos, ganito ang kuwento doon: “Pagkatapos niyang magsalita sa kanila, ang Panginoong Jesus ay iniakyat sa langit at umupo sa kanan ng Diyos…”
Sa Lucas, ganito naman ang sinasabi: “Pagkatapos ng mga ito, sila’y isinama ni Jesus sa labas ng lunsod. Padating sa Bethania, itinaas niya ang kanyang mga kamay at sila’y binasbasan. Habang iginagawad niya ito, siya nama’y lumalayo paakyat sa langit.”
Sa Aklat ng mga Gawa, ginawa naman ang pangakong kung papaanong iniakyat sa langit si Jesus, ganundin ang magaganap sa Kanyang pagbabalik.
