DILG to lead distribution of fuel subsidy in 6 cities, 37 towns in Caraga region starting May 13

                BUTUAN CITY (PNA) - The regional office of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Caraga region will spearhead release of fuel subsidy to tricycle transport sector in six cities and 37 municipalities starting tomorrow May 13 Friday, the Philippine Information Agency regional office announced today.

 

                The SMS information data sent to this writer from the PIA claimed the subsidy in the form of checks will be distributed individually to listed beneficiaries starting tomorrow Friday.

 

                The report said, DILG-Caraga regional director Atty. Rene Burdeos said the subsidy is in line with the implementation of Public Transport Assistance Program or the Pantawid Pasada which was established under Executive Order No. 32 aimed to provide relief for the public transport in cushioning the impact of ever-increasing fuel prices that renders economic difficulty to helpless riding and consuming public

 

                The one-time fuel subsidy of P150 each will only be granted to tricycle operators whose franchises have been renewed as of April 25, this year. (PNA/Ben Serrano)
