MMDA raps TRO vs. smoking ban

ROTARY GOLF TOURNAMENT COUNTDOWN BEGINS: The countdown for the October 8, 2011 golf tournament of the Rotary Club of Intramuros has begun, and it is just a mere 34 days to go before the tournament rolls off. All systems are a go, so far, by the grace of God, including the grand prize of a Kia Picanto brand new car for the lucky “hole-in-one” golfer. MMDA TO FIGHT TRO VS. SMOKING BAN: Chairman Francis Tolentino of the Metro Manila Development Authority will fight the order issued by a Mandaluyong City Regional Trial Court stopping the MMDA from enforcing the smoking ban, even if the battle reaches the Supreme Court.
Tolentino spoke about his plans during the Thursday, September 1, 2011 regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Intramuros, where he stressed, as the guest speaker of that meeting, that implementing the smoking ban is an executive function that the courts cannot---and should not---interfere with.
The youthful MMDA executive told Rotarians from District 3810 of Rotary International, led by District Gov. Ernesto Chua and Past District Gov. Lyne Abanilla, that he found the order of the court grossly contrary to the Constitution.

DENGUE, BIRD FLU ARE CURSES FROM GOD: The bird flu scare is once again all over the Philippines. It is coming to us at a time that we are still reeling from dengue, the dreaded disease which also causes body temperatures to rise uncontrollably and which, if unattended to, may cause permanent damage or death.
Again, I repeat: these illnesses, which induce deadly or fatal high fever among afflicted individuals, have a Biblical basis, because they represent curses promised by God to a people who no longer listen to Him and who no longer obey His Commands.
To those who are interested to find out the truth of what we have been writing on this matter for quite some time, try reading Deuteronomy 28:15 in relation to Deuteronomy 28:22 of the Holy Bible.

THE “DRAGON” IN THE BIBLE: Did you know that the Bible contains references to a “dragon”, especially in its Book of Revelation? Here is what Revelation 12:1-4 says: “A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.
“Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born…”

MMDA, kinastigo ang TRO vs. smoking ban

ROTARY GOLF TOURNAMENT, PAPALAPIT NA: Lumalapit na ang golf tournament ng Rotary Club of Intramuros sa Oktubre 8, 2011, at halos 34 na araw na lamang ang nalalabi bago ito idaos. MMDA TO FIGHT TRO VS. SMOKING BAN: Lalabanan hanggang sa Korte Suprema ni Chairman Francis Tolentino ng Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ang utos ng Mandaluyong City Regional Trial Court na pumipigil sa MMDA upang maipatupad ang smoking ban o pagbabawal sa paninigarilyo sa kalunsuran.
Isiniwalat ni Tolentino ang planong ito noong Huwebes, Septyembre 1, 2011, sa regular meeting ng Rotary Club of Intramuros kung saan ipinagdiininan niya, bilang panauhing tagapagsalita, na ang pagpapatupad sa smoking ban ay trabaho ng ehekutibo na hindi pupuwedeng pigilan o sawatain ng mga hukuman.
Ipinaliwanag ng batam-batang pinuno ng MMDA sa mga Rotarians mula sa District 3810 ng Rotary International, sa pamumuno ni District Gov. Ernesto Chua at Past District Gov. Lyne Abanilla, na nakita niyang ang utos ng hukuman ay labag sa Saligang Batas ng 1987.

DENGUE, BIRD FLU, MGA SUMPA NG DIYOS: Muli na namang kinatatakutan ang bird flu sa Pilipinas, sa panahong iniinda pa natin ang dengue—ang kinatatakutang sakit na nagdudulot din ng matinding init sa katawan na kung hindi maagapan ay maaaring magdulot ng grabeng pinsala o ng kamatayan.
Muli, inuulit ko: ang mga sakit na ito na nagdudulot ng nakakamatay na mataas na lagnat sa tinatamaang mga tao, ay may batayan sa Bibliya, sapagkat kinakatawan ng mga ito ang mga sumpang ipinangako ng Diyos sa mga hindi na nakikinig at hindi na sumusunod sa Kanyang mga utos.
Sa mga interesadong makita ang katotohanan ng binabanggit natin dito, marapat na basahin nila ang Deuteronomio 28:15 at Deuteronomio 28:22 ng Banal na Bibliya.

ANG “DRAGON” SA BIBLIYA:. Alam ba ninyong may mga bahagi ng Bibliya na tumutukoy sa “dragon”, lalo na sa Aklat ng Pahayag? Naririto ang sinasabi ng Pahayag 12:1-4: “Lumabas ang isang tanda sa langit: isang babaeng nabibihisan ng araw, at ang mga paa’y nakatuntong sa buwan, at may korona ng labindalawang bituwin sa kanyang ulo. Buntis siya at sumisigaw sa sakit dahil sa nalalapit niyang pagsilang.
“Sumunod dito ay isa pang tanda sa langit: isang malaking dragon na may pitong ulo at sampung sungay, at may pitongkorona sa bawat ulo. Ang buntot nito ay humawi sa ikatlong bahagi ng mga bituwin sa langit at ibinagsak niya ito sa daigdig. Nakatayo ang dragon sa harap ng babae na noon ay malapig ng magsilang, upang lapain nito ang sanggol…”
