Cops nabbed 2 brothers for murder of Dutch national

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija, January 15, 2011–Police arrested two (2) brothers tagged for shooting to death a 50-year-old foreign national in Peñaranda, Nueva Ecija Thursday night.

 

Senior Supt. Roberto Aliggayu, provincial police director, identified the suspects as Ronald Robert Overman, 44, and his younger brother Peter, 41, car dealer, both of Sitio Tambo, Barangay Sinisahan, Peñaranda.

 

Aliggayu said the two were rounded up by police for the fatal shooting of Richard Bernardus Josefus, 50, of Netherlands. Josefus was shot by two men while visiting the place at around 5 am Thursday.

 

The suspects were later identified by a lone witness. The motive for Josefus’ killing was not immediately known. Josefus is the second foreign national killed in Nueva Ecija over a span of two (2) weeks.

 

On New Year’s Eve, 58-year-old Graham Paul Bayley, a British national, was gunned down by a lone gunman after stepping out of a videoke bar in Cabanatuan City. The motive for Bayley’s killing was robbery. (Jason de Asis)
