Taiwanese drug manufacturer donates P5-M medicines to 4 Aurora hospitals

CASIGURAN, Aurora, November 20, 2010–A Taiwanese drug manufacturer has donated some P5 million worth of quality medicines to the Aurora Memorial Hospital and three provincial government-run hospitals in the province.

 

Gaudi Phamaceuticals, through its local subsidiary Gaudi Trade Co., Ltd. Philippines, represented by Gao Pronove,  delivered the boxes of assorted medicines during ceremonial turn-over ceremonies at the Agricula Covered Court here Monday.

 

The medicines are for the treatment of hypertension, ulcer, diarrhea, fever and body pain. 

 

Pronove said Gaudi Pharmaceuticals is a Good Management Practice-certified drug manufacturer based in Taiwan which is committed to the “highest standards of quality products covering a wide range of therapeutic classes that can help win the battle against the most prevalent illnesses in the country today.” 

 

 Pronove said the donations were initiated by Gaudi Taiwan chairman Liao Kuo-Kai who recently visited Casiguran on the invitation of Sen. Edgardo Angara.

 

Pronove said that Liao was impressed by the potential of Casiguran and described it as a “gem” in terms of its natural attractions and its people. He added that Liao shares Angara’s vision of a Pacific gateway connected to the vibrant and growing economies and culture of Asia.

 

Pronove was accompanied here by Robbie Mathay, a representative of Gaudi Taiwan.

 

Gov. Bellaflor Angara-Castillo said the donations were negotiated with the help of Apeco and will boost the delivery of health services of the recipient hospitals namely AMH, the Casiguran District Hospital, the Ma. Aurora Community Hospital and the Dingalan Community Hospital.  She said the medicines will also advance her development agenda that includes provisions of health benefits to local residents.

 

The medical donations were received by the various chiefs of hospitals namely AMH chief, Dr. Luisito Teh, CGH chief Dr. Rowell Rioflorido and MACH chief, Dr. Myrna Nicer.    

 

Pronove said that Liao is interested to locate inside the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone. Gaudi Taiwan, in partnership with Eco Market Solutions, is investing some P380 million worth of projects in mariculture, biomass gasification power plant and coco mill.

 

In his speech, Pronove said the Gaudi Group shares the vision of contributing to the overall improvement in the health and well-being of the Filipino family. “It is also mindful of the importance of being an outstanding corporate citizen in Philippine society by conducting itself with the highest ethical standards. Thus, this donation is just one of the many ways by which Gaudi will try to live up to its role as a good Filipino corporate citizen,” he said.

 

Pronove said Gaudi Philippines, through its general manager Rene Figueroa Jr., is in the process of completing the necessary licensing and certification requirements for its key pharmaceutical and health-related products. Once completed, he said Filipinos will immensely benefit from the high-quality medicines it will churn out.
